Anchorage Trail Engagement | Lindsay & Jackson

November 14, 2022

Anchorage Trail, Anchorage, Kentucky

The Anchorage Trail is not a new destination for engagement photos here at Green Apple Weddings, but it is a favorite!

If you haven’t yet delighted your senses with this beautiful area, the time is now.

Anchorage Trail is an easy 2-mile loop that is popular with everyone from bikers, bird watchers, and runners. But it’s also well loved by families looking for a casual space to gather or picnic.

One of the things that makes Anchorage Trail so great is that there are so many spots within the park where you can easily pop off the path to enjoy solitude by the creek.

Visitors of Anchorage Trail may catch a glimpse of deer who are often seen at dusk and dawn.

If you visit in the fall you may spot some pumpkins growing along the path that have been harvested by Evergreen Real Estate!

Of course you can always check out Willow Lake which is adjacent to Anchorage Trail and the hang-out place for ducks, geese and swans.

The other thing that makes Anchorage Trail so unique is its amphitheater which hosts church groups, events, and even weddings.

Students take outdoor courses here and the trail has even been awarded a National Trails Corporate Award.

Needless to say, we were so excited to meet Lindsay and Jackson at Anchorage Trail for their engagement photos.

When a couple comes to us we always ask them to fill out our Green Apple Weddings Questionnaire so we can share all the details of their love story with our readers!

Read below to see what they had to say and then check out their beautiful photos!

How did you meet?:

Jackson and I met at Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, KY. We were asked to become interns for the church’s college-aged ministry and got to know each other through that.

We originally hit it off as good friends but then soon decided to date. God took the reins in our relationship and here we are!

When/where did you go on your first date?

In December 2020, Jackson took me to Agave and Rye. It actually wasn’t to be considered a “date” originally — we were just supposed to have lunch! We ended up spending the entire day together, though, talking for hours.

Tell me a bit about how you fell in love?

Though Jackson and I hit it off as great friends originally, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to start a relationship. After praying and seeking wise advice, I decided to see where things would go.

Over time I was able to see more into Jackson’s heart- he loved the Lord and had so many admirable qualities that made me fall in love with him one day at a time.

How did your fiancé propose?:

Jackson asked me to marry him during one of our church services in the room we had one of our first conversations. He was messaging me during the service saying he needed “a hand” in our college-aged ministry room.

I went up to the room to find him with roses and I knew then what was happening! It was very intimate and sweet!

Where/when did your fiancé propose?

What are you most excited about for your wedding?

Jackson and I are most excited about being surrounded by friends and family as we start our lives together. We hope for everyone to feel loved and welcomed!

If your love story was a movie what would you title it?

“Loving as God Leads”

Describe your relationship in 5 words?

Loving as Christ loved us

What is something that means the most to both of you?

Our faith is our world. We thank God for bringing us together and hope to have a marriage that will give God glory. Though we love each other, we both love God more and will always put Him first.

What is your favorite thing about your fiancé?

He does an amazing job at loving me the way Christ loves us. He is so full of grace and his heart is my favorite quality about him.

How have you grown as a couple since you started dating?

From the beginning of our relationship, we made an effort on developing communication skills and knowing how to show love to one another.

I think we have grown as a couple through bettering those skills and continuing to prepare for a life together.

Favorite Quirk about each other?

Jackson will sometimes look up with his eyes when he kisses me and it’s very cute! Jackson says his favorite quirk of mine is that I’ll sometimes say “watch this” in the middle of shopping and break out into goofy dances.

If you could spend 24 hours with your fiancé, what would you be doing?

We’d probably spend most of the day playing video games! It’s one of our favorite pastimes.

When do you feel most loved by your person?

When Jackson holds me while watching TV (even though I know he doesn’t like watching TV!) It’s one of my favorite things 🙂

What vendors did you wear or use for your engagement outfits?

Express and Hello Molly (navy dress)
