Factory 12 Event Loft Columbus Indiana
What was once an old sewing factory in 1912, has now become a breathtaking wedding venue that blends the historic with the industrial.
Factory 12 Event Loft features exposed brick, hardwood floors and rustic wooden beams.
It is because of this character and history that Factory 12 Event Loft was the perfect space for Cassy & Jon to become husband and wife.
Cassy and Jon met through Match.com, an online dating website.
Cassy was living in Indianapolis at the time and Jon was in Columbus, Indiana. For their first date, they decided to meet in the middle at On the Border in Greenwood, IN on April 18, 2016.
When asked about the first date, Cassy laughed and said, “He was so quiet. I made fun of his cowboy boots. So he always says I was lucky to get a second date.”
After dinner, they got ice cream at Cold Stone.
One of our favorite things to do here at Green Apple Photography is send some questions to the newlyweds after the wedding day. Here are some of their answers.
Tell me a bit about how you fell in love?
Jon and I are both take it slow people. It worked perfectly for us to start at a distance!
We were able to hang out on the weekends and sometimes meet in the middle for dinner during the week.
We both love our families, friends, and pets! Watching him be a great son, friend, and dog daddy was and still is one of my favorite things.
We moved in together after about a year of dating. Jon is just so sweet, silly, and funny. He is such a good man and makes me laugh all the time.
How did Jon propose?
Jon proposed on November 7th, 2020!
We were about to go out for a fun day with our friends.
He got down on one knee at our house after putting on Cody Johnson’s, Ride With Me. He immediately started crying and could hardly get out the words.
It was so sweet.
We have worked so hard on making our house a home together. We have redone the entire house together!
There isn’t a place in the world that means more to the two of us than our home.
If your love story was a movie, what would you title it?
Must Love Dogs and Laughter
Describe your relationship in 5 words?
Silly, Fun, Loving, Partnership, Balance
What was the most anticipated part of your wedding day for you both?
We were both just so excited to dance and celebrate with the people we love most!
Were you nervous?
We were both nervous about the ceremony. I think seeing each other before the ceremony helped. I tried to just focus on him during the ceremony which seemed to help too.
What song did you walk down the aisle to?
Make You Feel My Love-Adele, It was a string quartet version
What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?
Having kids! We have been together for 5 years and have been living together for 4 of them. So our day to day life will pretty much be the same. We are so excited to grow our family.
What was your wedding inspiration?
We decided on a venue and then planned from there. Jon and I both love the color orange so we wanted to incorporate that. We wanted to keep it simple.
What was your wedding song?
Our wedding song was More of You by Chris Stapleton. It is a beautiful song. We also love that it is a duet with his wife. So many songs are just the man singing to the woman. We didn’t want that.
What song did you dance to for your parent dances and why?
I chose a cover of the Friends theme song by Boyce Avenue to dance with my dad.
My mom and dad recently got divorced. It has been difficult but we will always be there for each other, even when the rain starts to pour. I also love Friends so it worked out really well.
Jon’s mom recently passed away, so we decided to have everyone come to the floor and dance to one of her favorite songs, Love Shack.
What advice do you have for anyone getting married?
People seem to not know that the specific people you address a wedding invitation to are the only people invited.
If I could do it again I would have done a paper invite instead of online and put ___ out of 2.
I also would have gone online to see if anyone was selling centerpieces I liked and planning my wedding colors around what I could buy premade! Making it all was overwhelming.
