How They Met
Megan and Jamie met while working at Dairy Queen in 2014. They were both attended Western Kentucky University at the time. Friends, they left the university for the summer, but never lost touch. Instead their affection for each other grew. Not long after they got back to Bowling Green they started dating. When Jamie bought Megan tickets to the University of Tennessee versus University of Kentucky football game, she knew he was the one.
The Proposal
The next summer Jamie surprised Megan with a cat named Scarr from the Humane Society. Three years later, Jamie earned a promotion which he decided to celebrate during his birthday week. He talked his mom into through him a ‘Surprise Party’ for his birthday and asking Megan to help plan it. But the big surprise was when he proposed with her beautiful solitaire from Shane Co. Megan didn’t realize it, but she was planning her engagement party the entire time!
The Big Day
The morning of their wedding couldn’t have been more beautiful. Eden Springs Farmstead has two specific locations within their complex designed for a bride and groom to get ready separately. Megan and her maids enjoyed the Bridal Suite while Jamie and his groomsmen fished at the on-campus pond. The laughter echoed throughout Eden Springs when Megan’s younger brother, Cody, wore his mother’s wedding gown as a fake first look.
The bride and groom both wore custom boots from the Boot Barn. Megan absolutely glowed in her David’s Bridal A-line gown. Jamie was dapper, dressed in a Geno’s tuxedo. Their dogs, Harley and Johnny, served as Maid of Honor and Best Man. The two exchanged tear-filled vows as the sun set behind them.
After bridal party portraits, the couple spent time during golden hour creating their elegant, timeless wedding portraits. A combination of Dever Media Productions and Green Apple Weddings allowed for the best use of sunset possible. The sky lit up in purples and oranges, creating an epic backdrop to begin their celebration.
Food was served from Our Best while we were finishing portraits to ensure not a single person went hungry. The couple entered and immediately cut the Happy Camper Confections cake. Toasting the newlyweds brought another round of laughter and tears before Megan and Jamie had their first dance as a married couple. The father-daughter and mother-son dances followed, but then, Megan had a surprise. She asked her mother to join her on the dance floor for a special song with just the two of them.
The DJ played until 11pm when a vintage Ford truck arrived to take Megan and Jamie off to their happily ever after. Sparklers led the way to the tailgate, where Megan and Jamie climbed in to begin their lives together. We are beyond grateful to have been part of such a wonderful couples day and wish them the best!
