Christian & Makayla Keeneland Engagement Session

February 23, 2020

Keeneland Track Engagement Session Lexington Kentucky

When you first meet Christian and Makayla you can’t help but smile.  Their energy is absolutely electric and their love for each other shines through each and every moment.

Christian and Makayla met at church Turning Point Church in Lexington. She was going to Pharmacy School at University of Kentucky and I was going through the Aviation Program at Eastern Kentucky University. It took them a few years for them to get together, but they have been in love ever since.

After two years together, Christian knew it was time to pop the question.  He decided to wait until a trip to Florida! After a day of exploring the beaches and eating at the Sandbar, they were walking beneath a tree and Makayla started to jokingly sing “Christian and Makayla kissing in a tree…first comes love…” and then she paused and said “I actually don’t know what comes next.  Little did she know, Christian had a ring in his pocket all day waiting for the right moment. He got down on one knee and said “Then comes marriage.” It ended up being the perfect moment!

The oval solitaire from Jared’s is accented with a diamond band and is absolutely stunning.  It deserved to be showcased during their engagement session.  Since they wanted elegant engagement photos, and wanted to showcase Lexington, a town  they have both grown to love, we decided to head to Keeneland.  We started our session with a fancier outfit.  Makayla chose a gown by Shein while Christian kept his Jos A Bank suit casual.  Eventually changing into matching Lucky Brand sweaters, they snuggled to get away from the cold.

Makayla and Christian were true naturals in front of the camera.  Their interactions were natural and authentic.  I loved being a small part of their love story and can’t wait for their wedding in September.
