Louisville Wedding Venues

Louisville Wedding Venues

So you’re engaged! Congrats 🙂

But now what?  Finding the best Louisville wedding venue should be the first step toward your happily ever after.   The city is  filled with incredible options from historic homes to sweeping gardens, horse centric locales to bourbon distilleries – really anything your heart desires for a venue is within a thirty mile radius.

In order to narrow down your options you need to consider a few things.

Do you need to be close to hotels for your out of town guests?  Is a band the most important thing – if so you’ll need a giant dance floor for when everyone is grooving.  Does the scenery matter to you?  All of these questions will direct you toward the best venues.

While the excitement of visiting venues is amazing, you should definitely narrow down your search using Google.

But what should you be looking for?

  • REVIEWS

Read through and check out various places online to get an overall sense for a venue.  From TheKnot to Google, Facebook to WeddingWire it’s important to gather some feedback so you know what questions to ask during your venue tour.  Make sure to read thoroughly so you know if there are any red flags before your visit.

Real weddings from your venue will demonstrate how Louisville wedding venues can be transformed.  I recommend finding blog posts from your local photographers since they show everything from the little details to the big picture.  Another great place to find photos from your venue is on Pinterest, and some venues are even utilizing TikTok now to show before and afters.

So, without further ado, here, as Louisville wedding photographers, is our list of the Louisville wedding venues we think are amazing options for your big day:

The Brown

We are so fortunate to get to photograph at the Frazier often.  No wonder it made its way onto our 20 of the Best Louisville Wedding Venues list.  From a rooftop ceremony site overlooking the Ohio, to a bourbon hall and speakeasy, to the atrium garden, this venue offers tons of photography options without ever leaving the Frazier.

The Seelbach
500 S 4th St, Louisville, KY 40202

The biggest draw to making our best of venue list for the Seelbach is the elegance of their grand ballroom and the intimacy of the Rathskellar.  With historic ties to the mafia and old-time Louisville, this staple has everything from grand sweeping staircases to a bar stocked to the brink with unique bourbon.  If you want to step back in time this venue has it all.

Waterfront Botanical Gardens
1435 Frankfort Ave, Louisville, KY 40206

We are so fortunate to be in a city that values outdoor space.  The concept for the Louisville Waterfront Botanical Gardens was to create a space where the people could come, near the river, and really experience the beauty of nature.  With flowers blooming nearly all year long and a man made waterfall that allows peeps of the city, this venue is an excellent choice for your Louisville wedding.

Driscoll Estate
3301 Taylorsville Rd, Taylorsville, KY 40071

Southeast of Louisville in Taylorsville, Kentucky lies Driscoll Estates.  This family owned former farm houses bride and groom suites along with a man made lake, hidden woods, and stunning rock formations.  The owners are incredibly kind and will do anything they can to make your day flawless.  The reception hall is wooded from floor to ceiling and the dance floor is well located for all your get-down needs 😉  Louisville wedding venues aside, this location is rustic without being too far out from downtown.

Gheens Foundation Lodge

Views of Beckley Creek greet your guests as you walk into this beauty.  With a lawn made for ceremonies, and a well-laid out reception hall, this is a must view if you want to feel like you’re surrounding by nature.  Wood accents meet the black paneling in a mash-up made for beautiful imagery.

3rd Turn Oldham Gardens
6300 Old Lagrange Rd, Crestwood, KY 40014

With the brewery culture growing over the last ten years it’s no wonder one of our best Louisville wedding venues is a brewery; but it’s so much more than that.  Formally a greenhouse, 3rd Turn Oldham Gardens offers beautiful rustic settings unique to each and every turn.  Just outside of Louisville, this wonderland creates an ambiance of romanticism and whim.
