Waterfront Botanical Gardens Louisville Kentucky
Waterfront Botanical Gardens started out as a dream that Helen Harrigan had for the city of Louisville. She was working for Botanica, an organization that was started in 1993 as a way to help enlighten, entertain & educate the community about the botanical world.
She passed away in 1999, leaving a trust worth $1.5 million dollars that would be used for the construction of a botanical garden and conservatory in Louisville. Thus, Waterfront Botanical Gardens was born.
The site was selected in 2009 after much planning and broke ground in September of 2017.With so much beauty, elegance and heart, it made perfect sense that Natalie and Jordan would choose the Botanical Gardens to begin the rest of their lives together.
Natalie and Jordan have known each other most of their lives, having met back in preschool. They went on to live their lives, reconnecting via Instagram almost two decades later.
These two are proof that fate exists and that if it’s truly your person, you will find your way each other.
Below are their answers to our Green Apple Photography questionnaire.

Tell me a bit about how you fell in love? After the copious amounts of food dates and pool days, I found myself in love with someone who accepted all of my “quirks” so quickly.
How did your spouse propose?: He took me to get a new outfit for a nice dinner out. Very nervously, on the edge of his seat. It’s like he fell to one knee.

Did anything unexpected happen? What was the outcome? Ha!-Everything!
It seemed like everything was constantly changing from the original plan. One thing specifically was the unity candle (no flames inside and too windy outside).
I think if we would have done the candle, one of us would’ve tripped.
It turned out to be the best day ever!
Were you nervous? How did you squash those nerves? We were both so nervous! I know that I got through it by many curse words and thinking about finally seeing Jordan.

What’s your wedding song and the significance? “I’ll Be” By Edwin McCain- I heard it in the Cinderella Story movie when I was little and I had to have it! It truly made the night feel like a fairytale.
What song did you dance to for your parent dances and why? Daughters by John Mayer because it’s been my dad’s favorite song to sing with me since it was released.
Humble and Kind by Tim McGraw because his mom has raised him to be so humble and kind always.
What advice do you have for anyone getting married? It’s YOUR day! Be considerate of others, but know that it is all about you and what you want.
How did you feel at the end of the day? Sad that it was over, and grateful that it happened! I was full of joy knowing that I was able to see so many people and know that they experienced our day with us.
