Angel’s Envy Distillery (500 Main St)
For a bourbon-infused rehearsal dinner, Angel’s Envy’s downtown distillery boasts event spaces from 10 to 350 guests. While it has no fixed restaurant, guests can enjoy an immersive bourbon tasting or cocktail service (including a private speakeasy bar); outside catering can be arranged in the bright event hall. Just a block away, the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience has unique event rooms. The Speakeasy Room fits about 60 seated (100 standing) and features a cherry-wood bar – a fun Prohibition-era ambiance. Upstairs is the ON3 Bar, an open loft with exposed brick and bottle-chandelier décor, ideal for a cocktail-style reception up to about 75 people. The Mayan offers multiple private areas: the Back Patio Bar (up to 44 seated, 50 standing), a side patio (15–25 guests), and the indoor dining room (up to 40 guests, Mon–Thu). La Bodeguita de Mima brings Cuban flair to NuLu. This cozy spot specializes in authentic Cuban sandwiches, roasted pork and sangria. They have a private dining room perfect for rehearsal dinners, and the team can plan custom menus and drinks. The atmosphere is warm and nostalgic, with wood-paneled walls and Cuban art. Casual & Craft Breweries
West Sixth NuLu Brewery (817 E Market St)
A local craft brewery, West Sixth’s NuLu location offers a spacious Lounge and Marketplace Hall that can be rented together or separately. Between them they easily host 100+ guests (100 standing, 50 seated for one area). They serve their in-house craft beers on tap, plus ciders and a full bar. The vibe is laid-back and industrial, with communal tables and a friendly staff. West Sixth provides tables and chairs (no rental fee) and welcomes outside caterers. Garage Bar is a casual NuLu spot in a converted auto shop. They make wood-fired pizzas and sandwiches, alongside an extensive craft beer and bourbon selection. The industrial décor (even featuring a slow-moving car-crunching sculpture outside) keeps it fun. They can do events from small private gatherings to large buyouts. Flanagan’s Ale House (934 Baxter Ave)
Just a few blocks southwest of downtown, this Irish pub can host events in a fun, unpretentious setting. Flanagan’s specializes in pub fare (burgers, fish & chips) and has dozens of beers on tap. The vibe is lively and welcoming, with a dog-friendly patio. Flanagan’s will arrange group orders or an event menu.
