Noah and Brooke chose Silo Farms for their wedding day venue and it was such an incredibly beautiful day. Before you run off to swoon over their photos, read through their answers to the Green Apple Weddings questionnaire about how they met, fell in love, and all the behind-the-scenes details of their wedding day.
How did you meet?:
Noah and I meet in high school when I was a sophomore and he was a junior. He actually messaged me on Instagram and we started talking on the phone/facetime and found out that we lived 2 minutes from each other and even had some mutual friends.
The first time we hung out together was in the evening on thanksgiving day with some friends. The conversation flowed well and we had so much fun together that we never looked back.
When/where did you go on your first date?
Noah and I went to the movies and then ate at chick-fil-a after.
Tell me a bit about how you fell in love?
Noah and I hung out for about a month to get to know each other better before he asked me to be his girlfriend. I knew right away that he had many qualities that I loved and admired!
The biggest one that stuck out to me was his patience and kindness (with not just me but others as well) which is something I have always wanted in a significant other. We went on many dates and enjoyed one another’s time/presence tremendously.
We quickly found that we had many similarities/interests but also found how well we balanced one another out with our differences. The more we were around each other the more we fell and now we’re here and couldn’t be happier!
How did your spouse propose?:
(Little note: the lake has always been a special place to Noah and me that holds many memories! We would go on weekends while we were dating and go out on the boat and jet ski, cook, hang with family and friends, etc.)
Noah proposed to me on top of his family’s houseboat at sunset on the 4th of July weekend. He asked if I wanted to go watch the sunset on the top of the boat and then lead me to the very front where I sat on the floor and he asked me to stand (thought that was odd so I had an idea of what was going to happen after that).
He pulled the ring out of his pocket, got on one knee, and looked at me smiling for a good amount of time. I then said “well, are you gonna ask me??” and he said “well, are you gonna marry me?” and I, of course, said yes!
Where/when did your spouse propose?
Barren River Lake on July 3rd, 2020
If you love story was a movie what would you title it?
Home Is Where The Heart Is
Describe your relationship in 5 words?
Fun, loving, loyal/trustworthy, special, dependable.
What is something that means the most to both of you?
Having trust and communication in our relationship and always choosing forgiveness.
What was the most anticipated part of your wedding day for you both?
Seeing one another for the first time and being together up at the altar. We were just super excited to get/be married and have our loved ones there to support us.
Did anything unexpected happen? What was the outcome?
On the way to my makeup appointment on the wedding day my friend’s car broke down and we thought we were going to be late and that this was how the day was going to go from there but thankfully we were able to make it on time and the day couldn’t have been any better.
Something also got on my dress before I even put it on but it wasn’t in a super obvious spot so it ended up not being very noticeable.
Were you nervous?
How did you squash those nerves? We definitely were a little nervous about being In front of all those people but the nerves left immediately when we saw one another.
What song did you walk down the aisle to?
Heaven by Jason Aldean
What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?
Doing life together and not having to be apart so much.
What was your wedding inspiration?
A southern/rustic style
What’s your wedding song and the significance?
Then by Brad Paisley. We both felt that it described our love story and feelings well!
What song did you dance to for your parent dances and why?
“My little girl” by Tim McGraw for the father-daughter dance- also described our relationship and feelings well. “don’t blink” by Kenny Chesney-One of his mom’s favorite songs.
What advice do you have for anyone getting married?
Do your best to just relax and allow things to fall into place without stressing because the day flies by and truly does come together. Everything doesn’t have to be perfect (and it won’t be), just remember why you are there and who you are there for!
How did you feel at the end of the day?
Honestly really content and slightly relieved. Planning a wedding can be stressful and seeing/knowing how it went was really nice! Also finally being married to my best friend was everything we ever wanted.
