The Olmsted Louisville Kentucky
Jamie, a former Disney employee, was interested in magical elegant wedding photography that winter always seems to create. Held at the Olmsted, they were surrounded by Christmas wreaths and trees. Both the ballroom and the dining hall were accented with red and green florals and golden centerpieces. Danelle, with Elizabethtown Florist, created the various individual displays with unique pieces and flairs.
Instead of the traditional first look, Jamie and Patrick decided to read their vows to each other before they walked down the aisle. They held hands around a Christmas tree, and Jamie’s vows brought tears to Patrick’s eyes. It was a beautiful, sweet moment for two people who are very much in love.
The wedding ceremony was held in the grand foyer of the Olmsted, against the grand chimney which was overflowing with garland and ornaments. The couple lit a unity candle before sealing their marriage with a kiss beneath the mistletoe it was a truly magical moment for both.
As a traveling Kentucky Wedding Photographer, I experience various styles of weddings but this Christmas themed was just truly amazing! The couple asked guests to sign ornaments of well-wishes and to hang them on a wreath. The favors were Christmas spiced bottles of wine. Mistletoe led the guests to their assigned tables. Even the cake was decorated with pinecones and ornaments.
As Jamie and Patrick entered the reception, they led their guests in a robotic dance ensuring everyone knew it was time to party. The father-daughter dance was elegantly sweet, beginning traditionally and then breaking into a choreographed dance. Patrick’s mother smiled and laughed for the entire mother-son dance.
After an evening of performances by the band Kudmani, the couple left to a sparkler exit. We couldn’t be happier to have been a part of this day and wish them all the best.
