Tiffany and Azalea’s Engagement Session at El Dorado Dry Bed

September 13, 2021

El Dorado Dry Bed Boulder City, NV

Every year, Wedding Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) holds a photography conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.

We decided to arrive in Las Vegas a few days early in hopes to capture an engagement session or two with a stunning desert backdrop.

To our luck, Tiffany and Azalea just happened to be in the market for some engagement photos.

And the El Dorado Dry Bed in Boulder City, NV provided that perfect backdrop.

Being around the two of them, from the moment they stepped out of the car, you could tell that their love was truly the real thing. El Dorado Dry Bed

Their love story came with its own obstacles, as every love story does.

However, their love story told in Tiffany’s words has to be one of my favorites to date.

Below are their answers to the Green Apple Photography questionnaire, including their epic love story.

Tell us a little about how you fell in love:

“Our journey first began on December 15, 2018 while standing in the same line to get into the same place.

Ironically that was not her first choice of where her night would end up, nor was it mine.

The saying goes “The Lord works in mysterious ways” and it was no different for our story.

Little did we know that that moment would be the beginning of something beautiful.

At first we were merely acquaintances going down two completely different paths in our lives.

She was a woman enlisted in the United States Air Force stationed in Sacramento, CA and I was a woman attending Nursing School in Las Vegas, NV. El Dorado Dry Bed

It was no secret that neither one of us were looking for anything nor were we at all ready to fall into something so deep.

Over the next few months, we talked constantly and we saw each other whenever she came to town.

With every visit the connection grew, the feelings grew, the confidence grew and then we knew… damn, this is real.

After months of talking and sleepless nights, being on the phone until 4am or 5am we knew that it was inevitable.

On March 15, 2019 we decided to stop thinking and overanalyzing and let our hearts do the talking.

I don’t know about her but that was the best decision I have ever made in my life.

Now, most people don’t know this but only a few days later we said “I love you” and we both truly meant it.

I don’t know how to explain what we felt or what led us to disclose that so soon, but it was what our hearts wanted so we gave in. El Dorado Dry Bed

We knew how much we meant to one another and we knew that we wanted to be together, through whatever it took, and so we made it work.

I won’t lie to you and say “we got through it easily” or “the distance was nothing compared to our love” because that would be a lie.

Being in a long distance relationship with someone is extremely difficult, being in a relationship with someone who is in the military can be challenging.

Doing both was a whole new world.

We saw each other more than most people would have ever thought and we are forever grateful for that, but the distance grew hard as time went on.

Our love grew stronger and the pain grew deeper.

All we knew was that we were forever and that was enough for us.”

Future Wedding Date and Venue: October 14, 2021 — Chandelier Banquet Hall

How did you meet?: In line at Gold Spike in Downtown Las Vegas

When/where did you go on your first date? Our first date was at PT’s, a local pub and brewery, on March 14th.

How did your fiancé propose?: My fiance knows how much I enjoy taking photos and having photoshoots.

She told me that she was going to take me to a huge sunflower field in Davis, CA to take pictures for my birthday.

We get there and she sets up her camera on the tripod and sets it to record so we “wouldn’t miss any good shots” together.

A few minutes after poses, she twirls me around one last time and drops to one knee in the middle of the sunflower field…I cried like a baby.

It was one of the most beautiful moments of our lives and we will forever cherish it.

Where/when did your fiancé propose? July 15, 2020 In Davis, CA

What are you most excited about for your wedding? Being able to share our love and vow our commitment to one another in front of those who mean the most to us.

We have had such a crazy journey together, so we are excited for this next big step!

If your love story was a movie what would you title it? “Going the Distance”

Although we lived in different states, we were always willing to go the distance for one another because of how deeply we fell for each other.

Describe your relationship in 5 words? Joyful, Security, Heartwarming, Freeing, Goofy

What is something that means the most to both of you? Something that means the most to the both of us Is family.

We both come from a huge family and want a big family of our own one day.

What is your favorite thing about your fiancé? My favorite thing about her would definitely have to be her heart.

She has the most purest and kindest heart, and she is always there for people if they are in need.

How have you grown as a couple since you started dating? The fact that we were long distance for the majority of our relationship has helped us grow within our communication and finding creative ways to support one another from miles away.

Favorite Quirk about each other? Her favorite quirk about me is how quickly I can make a pun out of something.

My favorite quirk about her is her obsession with Stitch.

If you could spend 24 hours with your fiancé, what would you be doing? We would be cuddled up In bed, playing card games/board games and binge watching Criminal Minds series for the sixth time.

When do you feel most loved by your person? I feel most loved by my person when I feel the most vulnerable.

When I feel vulnerable I feel as if I am extremely anxious, or I do not feel as pretty, but those are the times where she makes me forget about all of that and reminds me of who I am.

Validation from her is the most empowering thing I have felt in a very long time.
