Whitehall Louisville is a gorgeous 19th-century mansion that makes for a beautiful wedding venue. In my opinion, this wedding venue is one of the prettiest garden wedding venues in Louisville. Its history dates back to around 1855, built by John Marshall with 16th-century inspired Italian Renaissance architectural design. Now, boasting Greek Revival-style architecture, this mansion is drenched in old-world charm and is the ideal location for couples yearning to be taken back into another era as they celebrate their classic wedding in style.

What I Love About Whitehall Louisville as a Photographer
I am a wedding photographer in Louisville, and I get excited to photograph couples at Whitehall because there is so much to love. The mansion itself, as well as the grounds, exude an air of grandeur, reflecting the style of the home from the early 1900s. This location is an impressive wedding venue as it boasts four different gardens that provide a delightful touch of graceful seclusion for an inviting, yet intimate ceremony.
Ceremony and Reception Locations
At Whitehall Louisville, there are multiple ceremony and reception spaces to choose from that provide a luxurious wedding day setting. Offering both indoor and outdoor options, this wedding venue is versatile in accommodating specific preferences of couples, providing ideal spaces for both intimate gatherings and large events.
The Whitehall Mansion
With a total of 6,217 square feet, the Mansion serves as an excellent indoor venue for both ceremonies and receptions, especially in the event of inclement weather or for more intimate weddings. Comfortable year-round with full air conditioning, the first floor accommodates cocktail receptions for up to 100 guests and comfortably seats 75 for dinners. To fully utilize the space, couples can also use the front and side porches for cocktail hour to incorporate the outdoor setting. And finally, the double parlor is an ideal spot for a DJ and dancing.
Coming into the Formal Garden, a fragrant clematis arch awaits to welcome guests with surprisingly bright blooms and a sweet smell that awakens the senses. Tall, verdant bushes gracefully envelop the space, meeting beautiful hanging branches overhead to create an invitingly airy and romantic atmosphere. Additionally, this space accommodates up to 200 seated guests.
With slightly more spacing to accommodate up to 250 seated guests, the adjacent Garden Terrace is well suited to accommodate open-air or tented receptions, as well as also doubling as a ceremony location, as well.
It’s Your Wedding. You Get to be the Main Character.
