We were so excited to spend the fairytale day with Lyndie and Dan for their Whitehall wedding and we asked them to answer our Green Apple Photography questionnaire so they can share more about their love story with us. Enjoy reading how they met and all about their wedding day!

How did you meet?:
Dan had a date with one of my friends where she invited him to a football watch party at my house. They didn’t end up hitting it off, but I matched with Dan on Tinder about a month and a half later. We met for our first date and talked about books and laughed and joked the whole time, and the rest is history.

When/where did you go on your first date?
On our first official date I made him tacos at his house and we played Cards Against Humanity with his roommates.

Tell me a bit about how you fell in love?
It took a while before we really fell in love. We had been spending time together and talking every day for about six months, but we both weren’t looking for anything serious as I was still in college and he had just graduated.

However, the more time we spent together, we realized we were becoming each other’s best friend and that it was hard for us to imagine not having the other in our lives.

I realize I was falling in love with him when we were sitting in his car after watching some superhero movie and eating ice cream, discussing how we thought the movie compared to the comic book.

Dan looked at me and said that he couldn’t imagine doing this with anyone else and I knew I was hooked after that.

How did your spouse propose?:
Dan proposed at our home over breakfast where he made my favorite, french toast, and gave me a baby Yoda stuffed toy holding the ring.

Where/when did your spouse propose?
He proposed on January 16th, 2021 in the kitchen of our home.

If your love story was a movie what would you title it?
It’s About Time (It took 6 months of seeing each other before he asked me to be his girlfriend, took five and a half years of dating before he proposed.)

Describe your relationship in 5 words?
Joyful, silly, supportive, nerdy, adventurous

What is something that means the most to both of you?
It is really important to both of us in our relationship to love each other as we are, flaws and all, but to also help each other grow into better people as individuals. Dan has always made me feel loved and supported to be able to be my true self, and vice versa, and we have always felt that was something that was special to both of us.

What was the most anticipated part of your wedding day for you both?
THE FOOD!! I was never the kind of little girl who dreamed of my wedding when I was younger, but the one thing I always really wanted was to have a pizza bar for my wedding, and we were able to make that happen.

Did anything unexpected happen? What was the outcome?
Everything in the day went by so smoothly until the very end, the whole night ended much earlier than we hoped and we just wanted to keep enjoying time with our family and friends. We were able to spend more time with them after the reception and in the days after though so we were thankful we had so much time with the people we love.

Were you nervous? How did you squash those nerves?
I was SO nervous! My mom and I arrived at the venue that morning and I remember looking at the house and immediately started having so much anxiety.

I told my mom I needed to go for a walk, so I walked through the gardens and called Dan. He asked what was wrong and I told him I was freaking out, which of course made him nervous! But he calmed me down and kept telling me how excited he was to marry me and how it is normal to have nerves about such a big moment in our lives, and I just immediately felt so much more at peace.

What song did you walk down the aisle to?
I Knew I Loved You- Mateo Oxley Piano Version

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?
We are so excited to travel together and experience all kinds of new adventures together, and it is so much more exciting knowing we will have each other by our side for the rest of our lives while we experience it all.

What was your wedding inspiration?
Secret Garden theme, with some Star Wars touches thrown in

What’s your wedding song and the significance?
Faithfully by Journey. Dan and I have this game we play where we like to sit together and take turns choosing a music video to play on Youtube. Dan ALWAYS chooses at least one Journey song, every time in the seven years we have been together. So whenever I hear a Journey song play, I think of him and how he belts out the lyrics while he air drums to the beat.

What song did you dance to for your parent dances and why?
Father-Daughter dance was to “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts. My mom and I love Rascal Flatts, we have been to their concerts four times now, and I even have lyrics from this song as a tattoo in dedication to my mom and my dad.

Mother-Son dance was to “Mom” by Garth Brooks. Dan’s mom picked it out, and she wanted something that she felt would show just how much she loved him as her firstborn since he’s the one who made her a mom.

What advice do you have for anyone getting married?
Be sure to spend quality time with your spouse on the day of. It gets so crazy and you are pulled in every direction, but the little moments we had where we snuck off to cool off in the house or just to walk through the gardens together just the two of us were the most special to us on that day.

How did you feel at the end of the day?
I was really sad it was over, especially after spending so much time planning everything. However, we both felt like it was a fairytale day.
